Mrs Pamela Diane Turner

Pamela Diane Turner November 24, 1945 - July 7, 2016 Pam was born on November 24, 1945 in Atlanta, GA. Parents of Greene Fleetwood Ford and Pauline Wilson Ford. It would not be fair to celebrate Pam's life without telling the wonderful "and " sad so as it goes.........Pam's parents both passed away when she was very young. Her father died in 1959, Pam age 14. Her mother died in 1961, Pam age 16. From there she lived with various Aunts/Uncles/Cousins spread from New Jersey to Georgia til she was of adult age , graduated from high school and allowed to be on her own. Pam's most precious gift to date, her daughter born September 9, 1965. Pam then worked very hard to provide her daughter with the best life possible she could at that time and did the most remarkable job. She proved her strength, endurance and unconditonal love once again. Pam was a hairdresser/cosmetologist at a local hair salon in Mobile, AL til she bought the local shop and ran it for several years making a low profile local hair salon thrive with business because of Pam and her beautiful spirit and gorgeous personality. By this time in her life her Christianity, that had always been there, is really shining thru. Pam is at this time very involved in her Christian life and played an important role in her Church. Pam played the organ, sang in the choir with an angelic voice, was a vital part of the Sunday School program, and helped organize children's ministry programs throughout her life at her church. It is at this time in the height of her happiness and struggle of being a working single parent that she meets her soulmate, the man God has sent to her to complete her life, the man that will be a role model/father for her daughter, her future husband and the man that will take care of her til the day she returns home to heaven. Pam marries on November 9, 1974. Pam and her family continue to grow and live life taking family vacations and celebrating eaches accomplishments and goals. Pam also returns to college and earns her BS degree in Radiology and works at University of South Alabama campus and hospital for several years to return to college to earn her BS degree in Ultrasonography. Pam is honored with many high profile sought after awards throughout her college time, even being mistaken at one presentation for a Doctor. She continued to work at USA hospital til retirement. Pam's greatest accomplishment with her church was with her ministry of God's word thru "puppetry". She helped create and minister to all ages thru this outreach. We will never forget "Blue". (Pam's puppet - the narrator/the story teller) This awakening of the ministry side of Pam thru action led to her time spent on Missionary trips to Costa Rica every year with a dental team for 10+ years thru the 1990's. Pam's beautiful christian spirit could be sensed the moment she was in your presence. That's why her involvement in her church was so life changing for a lot of people and herself. Pam also enjoyed going on many family vacations that created lifelong beautiful memories and many vacations with friends that were life changing emotionally and spiritually for Pam. These trips included many trips white water rafting, back packing, hiking and camping with friends, traveling abroad around the world with family and missionary trips. In 1989 Pam is blessed with the next love of her life, a granddaughter, born December 13, 1989. She spoils this child with love, affection and all the gifts of life and living that is in her capability. She loves this child and shows her the love of God thru her action/teachings. Pam continues her loyalty to her church, her family, and her ministry. In the following years she is again blessed, this time by the birth of her two great-grandchildren - a great-grandson born April 24, 2008 and a great-granddaughter born January 24, 2011. Pam will always be remembered as a strong Christian, a loving devoted wife, a sacrificing loving the best mother, the perfect loving supportive grandmother, the most blessed great grandmother, the most loyal friend and the most loving, beautiful, peaceful, caring , and sweetest person anyone will ever meet or know. Rest in Peace now Mama. God will take care of you now. Pamela D. Turner is preceded in death by her parents Greene Fleetwood Ford and Pauline Wilson Ford. Pam is survived by her husband David W. Turner, her daughter Melissa L. Turner, her granddaughter Pamela Brooke Harris and her great-grandchildren Bryce and Kryslynn.
