Michael W Kee Sr

Michael W Kee, Sr, age 71, of Foley, Alabama, passed away on July 1, 2026. Michael’s wife, Kathy, and brother, Ed, were by his side. Michael was born on October 6, 1954, in East St Louis, Illinois to Eanos Kee and Dorothy Ehrstein (Thompson). Michael married his soul mate, Kathy Reinhardt, on February 16, 2018 at the Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key, FL. Michael and Kathy shared 8 years of amazing love, friendship, adventure, and laughter. Michael lived a life full of adventure and loved being close to the water. Michael spent over 20 years boating on Kinkaid Lake in Murphysboro, Illinois. Michael was self employed as “The Boat Doctor” before branching out to utilize his construction expertise at Kee’s Boat and Home Repair. Michael and Kathy moved to Marathon, Florida in October 2017 where he continued self-employment as a local handyman until retiring. Michael enjoyed all the Keys had to offer including warm winters and beautiful views. Michael loved spending time with friends, opportunities to fish, and just walking on a dock to look for manatees or whatever sea life passed by at the moment. Michael and Kathy moved to Foley, Alabama in March 2024, still close to the Gulf and closer to family. Michael enjoyed putting together model cars, working on house projects and spending time with his beloved fur babies, Leo and Zeus. Michael shared many life stories of boating, fishing, riding motorcycles, participating in martial arts, and being with family and friends. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Michael Kee, Jr (Rachel) of Bedford, Indiana and daughter, Cassondra (Thomas) Patton of Sparta, Illinois; grandchildren Cypress, Justus & Eden Kee, Harley Colona, and Tobias, Landen and Vincent Duty. One brother, Edwin(Diane) Kee of Cumming, Georgia; and nephew, Chad (Hillary) Kee of Cumming, Georgia,.Michael was preceded in death by his parents. Michael’s wishes were to be cremated.
