Michael Beaty

Michael Christopher Beaty, known simply as “Beaty” to everyone who loved him, was born on June 25, 1970, and passed away on February 15, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends. Beaty was never a man easily defined by titles or accomplishments, because his life was not measured by perfection, but by presence. A true jack of all trades — and, as he would likely admit with a grin, a master of none — he worked in construction and spent much of his life building with his hands. But what he built best were connections with people. Life was not always easy for Beaty. He faced struggles that shaped him, yet somehow he remained the life of the party — the one who could make people laugh, show up when it mattered, and offer help even to those who may not have deserved it. His heart was generous, steady, and good as gold. He had a gift for growing things, a green thumb that could bring life out of almost anything. He loved food with unmatched enthusiasm — especially crab buffets, Chinese buffets, and any meal shared with people he cared about. Trips to the casino, fishing days, concerts, and quiet evenings spent watching the sunset were among his greatest joys. Many nights were spent on the phone comparing full-moon photos, chasing simple moments that meant everything. Beaty was also a collector at heart. Trinkets, gadgets, and little treasures found their way into what he proudly called the “Beaty Bubble” collection — each piece a small reflection of his curiosity, humor, and appreciation for the simple things that made life interesting. Beaty loved deeply and showed it in the small ways that mattered most. He adored Jack, Kitty, and Trouble, and he rarely missed a chance to support the people he loved. He cherished ordinary moments: binge-watching television, late-night conversations, and countless “adult sleepovers” filled with laughter and companionship. To those closest to him, he was not just a friend — he was family. Beaty leaves behind his family, along with many dear friends who became his chosen family — people whose lives were forever changed by his loyalty, humor, and unwavering presence. He also leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, stubborn kindness, and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He reminded people that a meaningful life is not about mastering everything, but about loving deeply, showing up, and leaving people better than you found them. As written in Ecclesiastes 8:15: “So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better… than to eat and drink and find enjoyment in their toil.” Beaty’s best friend and devoted caregiver would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cameron, Ann Marie of The Cancer Center, Pastor Bob, and the compassionate staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice — including Teisha, Austin, Sheryl, Kathy, and Noah — for the care, kindness, spiritual support, and compassion shown during his final journey. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, when family and friends gather to honor him in the way he wished. He mattered. And he will be deeply missed.
