Lois Penfold

Lois Penfold was a young little girl, born in kansas, with her two younger brothers, Lowel and Loren. Parents were Marion and Marie Pottenger. Lois played the violin and piano along with the organ. She played organ for many friends and family in the area. As Lois grew up she decided that medical fields were for her. So she went to nursing school in Kansas and then to El Paso Texas. During these times in Texas, mom became pregnant. Carla Starkey was born. To help with raising Carla, Lois moved to Colorado Springs with her parents and Loren. This house became a very strong and religious house. A few years later, mom and I moved to Michigan. Here she could finish her schooling for nurse anathesia. She also met her future husband, Willard Penfold. They married on December 18, 1976. Our family grew to include dads 2 daughters from a previous marriage. Diane is married to David Phy and he has a daughter named Celeste. She has 3 children. Leslie is married to David Hill and they have 2 children, Shelly has 3 boys, and Payton is married to Bev and they have 2 sons. Carla is married to Scott Sutherland and he has 2 sons. Now since mom and dad were married they started to go snow mobiling, pop up camping turned into motor home camping. They have some friends that talked them into traveling to the Holy Lands. Together all 4 of them went to very religious places. Their other trips included Scottland, and Egypt and other countries that are close. They enjoyed the traveling very much. Many pictures and souvenirs were brought back.Retirement has been very busy for these two. They have many friends that they made at Swift Presbyterian Church. Along with church members as friends they have been included as family with the Thomas's, Theresa and Bill and all of their children and their children. Mom has been known to send out greeting cards to all her friends and family. We all looked forward to the happy days. Lois is also a very well trained seamstress. She has made many gifts for her friends and family. Some by sewing and some with her serger. Lois Penfold has had a colorful life. She has always been there to talk to and to be a wonderful listener. She has a green thumb, she can grow just about anything in the plant field. She can cook with they best of them. Makes up her own recipies. Lois really has been a wonderful lady to know. Her heart of gold has helped out many of us along the way. I truly love and have so much respect for you. God loves you and he will be there for you. Love and prayers.
