In Loving Memory of Leslie McCormick There are some people whose impact cannot be measured by accomplishments alone, but by the countless lives they touched along the way. Leslie McCormick was one of those people. Leslie was an amazing mother, a devoted wife, a giving friend, and one of the kindest and strongest women anyone could ever hope to know. Throughout her life, she faced more than her share of challenges and health struggles, but those hardships never changed who she was at her core. She met every obstacle with courage, grace, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Born in Cape May, New Jersey, Leslie eventually found her way to Alabama, where she met the love of her life, David. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and service, raising their two daughters, Madalyn and Madyson. Everything Leslie did was rooted in her love for her family, she always emphasized the importance of caring for those who have cared for you. Leslie was a woman of many talents, though she was perhaps best known for her gift for floral design. She spent years working at her family's flower shop, The Fleur de Lis. Eventually, she pursued her dream and opened her own flower shop, The Crazy Daisy, in Summerdale, Alabama. Through every arrangement she created, Leslie shared beauty, comfort, and joy with her community. As much as she loved her work, Leslie's greatest gift was her selflessness. When family members became sick, she willingly set aside her own dreams and ambitions to care for them. She believed family was not simply something you had, it was something you showed up for. Her life was a testament to that belief. Even while navigating her own health challenges, Leslie continued to pour herself into others. She volunteered with her daughters' school PTA, served as treasurer for the Foley High School Band program, supported numerous local organizations, and most recently helped provide free meals to college students. If there was a need, Leslie was often among the first to step forward and help. But as generous and compassionate as she was, Leslie was equally known for her sense of humor. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. No one was safe from her witty banter, playful teasing, or a well-timed pinch. She had a way of making every gathering feel special and every person feel welcome. Whether it was a holiday celebration, a birthday party, or a simple family get-together, Leslie was often at the center of it all, creating memories that her loved ones will cherish forever. More than anything, Leslie loved being surrounded by the people she cared about. Her home, her table, and her heart were always open. Leslie is survived by her loving husband, David McCormick; her daughters, Madalyn and Madyson McCormick; her sister, Chellee Court; her adopted daughters, Lacey Skipper and Tara Cheesebrew; and her beloved grandchildren, Laylah, Lolah, Lilah, and Lucy Skipper. The loss of Leslie leaves a space that can never truly be filled. Yet her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the lives she touched, the family she loved so fiercely, and the countless memories she leaves behind.
