Charles Angelo Todaro Charles Angelo Todaro, better known as Charlie, passed away peacefully the evening of July 27, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 7, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Charlie was proud of his Sicilian roots and lived a life full of stories, charm, and love. He was married for 50 years to his beloved wife, Stephanie Diodene Todaro, the love of his life, and together they raised four daughters. The Todaro house was a gathering place with wonderful memories made. Charlie and Stephanie loved to entertain, with Stephanie being the chef extraordinaire, and Charlie handling the festivity set up. Charlie was a longtime salesman and manufacturer's representative; owning and building a successful company, General Power and Control Corp in Jefferson, LA. He built his career the same way he lived his life-knowing everyone by name, remembering the details, and making people feel seen. Whether it was a business client or his favorite waiter, waitress, or bartender at one of his beloved haunts, Charlie never forgot a name or a face, and he never missed a chance to tell a good story. A devoted fan of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Charlie carried himself with a bit of their swagger and charm. He was generous, kind, and loving, and above all, he was a character; the kind of man whose presence filled a room and whose "shenanigans" and hysterical text messages will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. In his final weeks, Charlie let his girls know that he was ready for the next stop on his life’s journey. He was surrounded by his family, who took turns making sure he was never alone. It is a comfort for all who loved him to know he and Stephanie are reunited at last. Charlie is survived by his four daughters, Alicia Silva (Pete), Tanya McGowin (Judge), Rhonda Todaro, and Charlotte Todaro; his grandchildren, Allie Cantwell (Colin), Charlie Silva, Carly Bailey (Jake), Annie Silva, Stephen Todaro, Nicholas Greisinger (Beth Ann), Louise Stalsberg (Kurt), and Travis McGowin (Paige); his great-granddaughter, Aspen Cantwell; and his siblings, Salvador Todaro (predeceased by his wife, Charmaine), Roselyn Vicknair (David), and Dennis Todaro (Kari); his sister-in-law, Denise Diodene, and brother-in-law, Russell Diodene (Geryl); and his nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Charlie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Diodene Todaro; his mother, Frances Todaro Gulley; and his father, Angelo Joseph Todaro. Charlie was loved by so many, and it showed in the outpouring of calls, texts, visits, and prayers he received in his final days. His family is deeply grateful for the love and support shown to him and to them. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10th at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, LA 70123. Visitation will begin at 10:15 am, with the funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
