Mrs Bonnie Lou Dorman

Bonnie Lou Dorman of Foley, AL passed away at her home on August 19, 2016 at the age of 73. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Burnice Dorman . They were married in Foley, AL on Janruary 26, 1962. She is also survived by her sister, Josie Lee Asquith of Huntsville, AL. Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her four sons Jack Dorman (Marian), Gene Dorman (Charlie), Mike Dorman (Missy), and Kevin Dorman. She has 10 grandchildren (Megan, Tara, Molli, Medea, Nic, Kyle, Zac, Colton, Allie and Anne) and 6 great-grandchildren (Lexie, Miley, Bradley, Evan, Kiley, and Annalynn). Bonnie was born in Foley, AL in 1942 and graduated from Foley High School in1960. Mom enjoyed life. She was a faithful believer in our Savior. Mom was not afraid of dying because she knew exactly where she was going. Mom worked in the early years of her marriage to help her husband support their family. When their boys were grown and started families of their own, Mom retired so that she could be home and take care of her grandbabies. Mom loved anything that involved her spending time with her family. She went as far as homeschooling some of her grandchildren. They were always encourged by her to do their best. Even when their best was not great Mom told them it was. She enjoyed reading and loved when her grandchildren would read to her. She liked to swim and fish. One of Mom's favorite hobbies was sewing. And she was great at it. She called it her ministry. Mom would do alterations and make clothes for anyone and everyone. She also would never except any compensation for anything she did for anyone. Mom was a great cook. She loved teaching others to sew and cook. Some of us got it, some of us did not. Mom will be missed tremendously. But we rejoice that she is free of pain and is now resting with the Lord in Heaven. (Though knowing Mom she is up there dancing and praising God) The visitation will be held at Fishermen Baptist Church , 17117 River Rd. Bon Secour, AL at 10am. The funeral service will be held at 11am following the visition with Bro. Wayne Mund officiating. There will not be a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fishermen Baptist Church for their missions program.
