Teresa Diane “Terry” Anderson, 68, a native of Silverhill, Alabama and a resident of Foley, passed away Tuesday, February 1st. Terry was a graduate of Robertsdale High School and the University of South Alabama. As a Medical Technician in the field of Hematology, she worked at Children’s Hospital and Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas before being hired at the Ochsner Medical Center Blood Bank in New Orleans, Louisiana. After working for them many years, she retired in 2019 as the Quality and Education Coordinator. During her time at Ochsner, she worked closely with the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and did a lot of volunteer work for them. She was often a guest speaker at AABB conventions and seminars around the country. Terry also volunteered at Audubon Zoo and the Aquarium of the Americas. She was a member of the Executive Women’s Golf Association and enjoyed volunteering at golf tournaments around the city. An avid and very knowledgeable sports fan, she liked most all sports and especially enjoyed watching the Crimson Tide roll! Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence N. “Red” Anderson and Hanna Anderson Hinote. She is survived by her brothers, Bobby Anderson of Perdido Beach and Jeff Anderson of Silverhill. There will be a family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
