Monty Scott Reed

Monty Scott Reed, 68, passed away October 8, 2021. He was born on January 8, 1953, in Glendale, Arizona to his parents Bernadean Reed and Willis Liles Reed. He was one of five children. Monty was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. Monty enjoyed spending time with his loving wife of 32 years, Janet Reed. He proudly devoted 24 years to the United States Navy. He was a quiet man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping in their RV, riding his motorcycle, watching TV, spending time with his grandchildren, going to Red Lobster and spoiling his dog Lulu. He also loved to help people. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Janet M. Reed; Parents, Willis Liles Reed, Bernadean Reed Gallaway, Roy L. Gallaway; Brother, Michael Reed, Bothers-in-law, Terry Noble, Randy Carmichael, and Danny Moore; Son-in-law, Lance Koltes; and Grandson, Scott Carpenter. He is survived by Children, Terry (Tessa) Godwin, Dianna (David) Carpenter, Sonya Koltes, Roy (Nicole) Reed, Rhonda (Clark) Lowe, and Tony Reed; Sister, Pamela Reed; Brothers, Willis (Rita) Reed, William (Rhonda) Gallaway; 25 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family whom he loved dearly. A Memorial Service for Monty and his wife Janet Reed, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 3097 Patricia Drive in Pensacola, Florida. Due to the circumstances of the funeral, the family asks that masks be worn for the service. Reception to follow.
