Linda Gail Piek

May 14, 2022

May 25,1954 - May 14,2022 Linda Gail Piek (McNamara) daughter of late Richard and Bessy McNamara, passed away on Saturday May 14th due to undetected bone cancer and left behind her husband James G Piek, her three children Glen S Booth, Raven N Robinette, Jenifer J Aide, and 9 grandchildren. Linda was a woman many people loved being around due to her outgoing, funny and loving personality. She gave everyone nicknames and made friends everywhere she went. Many of her customers at the postal service knew her as the "tattoo lady" because she expressed much of herself in the form of tattoos throughout her life. While working for the postal service she always made sure to treat people with kindness and thoughtfulness. She always had a stack of stickers to choose from for the children that came through her line and many customers even waited longer in line just to be seen and helped by Linda, instead of going to the first available clerk. She made others laugh and feel cared for. Linda had many jobs over the years of her life, including following in her father's footsteps working for the postal service for over 20 years...But the most important "job" she ever had was being a mom and she did that well!! Just like any other mom, she made her share of mistakes that I'm sure stuck with her over the years, but none of us would've ever traded her for anyone else!!! She did her best to always love us for who we were, never judging us yet helping us along the way through our own mistakes and choices. We always knew she loved us and cared for us no matter what and not everyone is blessed with a mom like her! We were more than blessed to have her!! She stood up for her children every chance she could and people were better off not to cross her or her babies! She was strong, both physically and mentally. She had a husband who loved her more than you could ever imagine and it showed abundantly throughout the last few years of her life as she struggled in pain to get through each day and he cared for her just like they vowed "through sickness and health" 26 years ago. She was blessed to have a man who loved her so much and have that time with someone so selfless in her last bit of time on this earth. She loved her family so much and would talk about them to anyone who would listen! She showed pride in them, and that's awesome. Many people would've described her as a "hard worker" or an "amazing friend" or their "favorite cousin" or even their "best friend" ... and she was all of this and so much more as she displayed all these qualities and titles every day of her life. The last few years of her life were nothing short of a struggle as she was so used to being so strong and making it through anything in life no matter the pain. It was definitely a shock to us all to find that she had bone cancer and was past the point of return, but we can all be thankful in the fact that she is no longer suffering through life, in pain every single day and not understanding why. Linda was a hippie at heart and loved everyone. Her smile was BIG and Beautiful and could make anyone smile just seeing it. She loved many things and animals, a few of them being dogs, dragonflies, moon and stars, the color purple, word games, chocolate, crime and mystery shows/movies, and Cracker Barrel. Each of these will be something to help us all remember her every time we see them. Linda will forever be loved by so many and never forgotten. Her life was a party we will continue to celebrate, until we see her again in heaven. Arrangements are entrusted to Cason Funeral Service in Foley Al
