Jackie G Barron
January 13, 2022
Jackie Gayle Barron (Quarles), 82, went home to be with the Lord January 13th, 2022, at home, surrounded by her children after a courageous battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Inez Quarles (Propes), father, Alton B. Quarles, and her daughter, Regina Gail Murray. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Cooper (Tim), son, Douglas “Scott” Barron, “brothero” Gary Quarles (Tina), grandchildren; Jennifer Patterson (Wesley), Andy Murray, Rachel Styron (Brandon), Jessica Fowler, Chris Cooper (Theresa). Great-grandchildren; Kaid, Cole, Caleb, Carly, Ethan, Colby, Cason, Stephanie, Aiden, and Lily. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. From the beginning of her life, Jackie was unique by the way she loved to dance. It showed early and by the age of 8, she became the youngest majorette mascot in the history of Gadsden High School. This love of dancing continued throughout her life. She taught her children to dance and went on to become an accomplished ballroom dancer. She and her partner, Dana Taylor, awed people everywhere with their precision steps and even preformed exhibitions using those skills. She was a member of Paden Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir as well as volunteering for Vacation Bible School and any other event she could assist with. She was a wonderful and supportive mother. She wanted her children to experience all the world had to offer. Every event they participated in, she was there giving her full support, whether it be sports, band, cheerleading, piano recitals or church events. She taught them to take risks to be happy, but make sound decisions. Those decisions weren’t always the best ones, but she was there to help in every way she could. She was the best mom ever. She retired from Winn-Dixie after 35 years of excellent service. She enjoyed many years of fun and happiness with her co-workers; riding dune buggies, attending NASCAR races, and so much more. Jackie was well loved and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Answered Prayers Home Care, Amy Bice, especially her good friend Cindy Nehls who took loving care of our mother, Southern Care Hospice, especially Misty, who was a caring nurse that took special care of mother as well. Graveside service to be announced.
