Eunice Whitaker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On August 30, 2021 Eunice V. Whitaker (Ethylene) passed away at the age of 86 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Roy D. Whitaker of 67 years, three children, Don (Marcie) Whitaker, Kathy Whitaker-Kancher, Bruce Whitaker, three grandchildren, Donald (Niki) Whitaker, Jessica (Jamie) Willis, Krystin Whitaker and four great grandchildren, Whit Whitaker, Lily Whitaker, Chloe Willis & Isabella Willis. Eunice was born in the small town of Willacoochee, GA. She shared many stories of her youth where her family farmed tobacco and made distilled spirits (moonshine) that was enjoyed by area residents, including elected officials. After graduating high school she moved to Mobile, AL where she met Roy, the love of her life. After 25 years she retired from Scott Paper Company to the beaches of Fort Morgan, AL. She loved cooking gumbo, it was the best, carrot cake and devil’s food cake for Bruce, who was her favorite! She volunteered as a laundress for tours at Fort Morgan and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed reading romance novels, sewing and playing board games. She was also a two-time breast cancer survivor and a member of Bosom Buddies South Baldwin. Later in life she and Roy moved to Foley, AL where they were active members of Summerdale Church of Christ. She always made everyone feel warm and welcomed in her home and chances are you left with a full belly and the desire to come back for seconds. She is loved and will be missed!!!! The family wants to express their appreciation and gratitude to SouthernCare Hospice Services, Daphne, AL, for their care and support during this difficult time. Donations can be made in her honor to Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department, Summerdale Church of Christ, American Breast Cancer Foundation or any charity of your choice.
