Wayne Martin Parker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wayne Martin Parker Wayne Martin Parker, age 88, died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on July 1, 2023. He served honorably in the United States Army in service to his country. He served as Deacon and Ruling Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Foley. Mr. Parker was a professional painter with his best friend, Nick Jones, and owned Parker-Jones Paint Contracting until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle at Parker Family Farm, for many years. He enjoyed shrimping, net fishing, and gardening. He loved spending time with family, church, and he loved having family and friends over for fish fries, and his famous gumbo. He especially loved Christmas, cooking gumbo for his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Parker, his parents, Sim and Earlene Parker, his brother, Virgil Parker, his nephew, Donnie Parker, and his grandson, Garret Lane Parker. He is survived by his children, daughter, Nikki Parker, son, Neal Parker (Wendy), daughter, Donna Gaubatz (Tony), and son, Mark Swigert (Gloria). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A special thank you from the family to Samantha Cook and Pamela Williams, for their love, adoration, and special care of him in his final months. A celebration of life with military honors will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 8th at 10am . A private graveside service will be held at a later date for his family.
