Sam Davison

Sam Davison is now with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He peacefully passed away at his home in Foley, Alabama, while in the loving care of close family members on the date of May 24, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1940 in Atmore, Alabama to Fonnie Wilber and Tommie Eugene Davison. After graduating from Escambia County High School, in 1958, he enlisted in the United States Marines and served until he received honorable discharge in 1962. He then served in the reserves until 1964. He gained employment with Monsanto working in nylon yarn production for over 12 years where he met and married his loving wife of 61 years. He is survived by his wife, Joan Davison, three daughters, Debbie (Wade) Henson, Robin (Bill) Kline, Tammy (Jeff) McKenzie and one son Chris Davison. He was the proud grandfather to Michele (Clint) Walker, Becky (Kendal) White, Bradly (Marie) Kline, Robbie Kline, Deanna Kline, Matthew Kline, Lauren (Johnathan) Buchanan, Mindy (Frank) Shepard, Wes McKenzie, Christopher Davison, Blake (Briana) Davison, Nikki Davison, and Breanna (Caleb) Heyda and great grandfather to 19 beloved great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Faye (Thomas) Heathcock. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and also his grandson Joey Stanford. He is remembered as having great love for God, his many family members, and for this great country. In his younger days, he was an avid fisherman. Some of his other hobbies included growing a large garden for family and friends, fixing things, and enjoying a game of Alabama football. He came to know the Lord and was baptized in a river in Josephine, Alabama around 1972, becoming a member of Berean Baptist Church in Elberta. He later moved membership and served as deacon at Open Door Baptist Church of Foley. Arrangements are as follows: Open Door Baptist Church 20774 County Road 12 S Foley 9:00-10:00 visitation 10:00 service. Interment to follow service At Pine Rest Memorial Park US Hwy 98 Foley.Al.
