Robert Dale Holloway

Robert Dale Holloway, age 61 passed away at South Baldwin Medical Center on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Dale was born July 15, 1963, in Butler, AL to Norman Alvin Robert “Red” Holloway and Mildred Walker Holloway. Dale attended Selma City Schools and spent his young adult life traveling alongside his Daddy working in the roadbuilding business for W. S. Newell Roadbuilders. Dale had a talent in any type of construction work and took great pride in his skills and knowledge. In his spare time, he liked to grow vegetables and care for his yard, which he was meticulous about. Both things he inherited from his father. He was also a devoted Florida Gator football fan. He spent the last twelve years working for Mark Keel Construction, LLC in Orange Beach, AL He enjoyed his work and formed lasting friendships with his boss, co-workers, and associates at many of the local businesses he frequented. He was especially proud of his wife Gina and was very happy when she came to work in the office for Mark Keel, alongside Dale. He always looked forward to taking her to lunch every day. Dale is survived by his mother Mildred W. Holloway of Selma, his wife Gina Fleming Holloway of Gulf Shores, AL, his `children Vanessa Holloway of Panama City Beach, FL; and Lauren H. Brannon (Nick), son Lance Holloway both of Rome, GA his step children Nicole F. Godbold (Josh) of Elberta, AL and Sol Fleming of Gulf Shores, He is survived by six grandchildren Bentley, Adalyn and Lucie Brannon all of Rome, GA, and Emma Claire, Eli and Acelynn Godbold of Elberta. He leaves behind three sisters Joyce H. Daniels and Vickie H. Austin of Selma, AL and Belinda H. Herring of Pensacola, FL and one brother Terry Holloway of Marion, OH and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces. Dale was preceded in death by his father Norman Holloway, his son Caleb Holloway and his nephews Zachary Austin and Trey Holloway and most recently his beloved mother-in-law Jean Butts whom he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held on November 8, 2024, in Gulf Shores, AL at the Gulf State Park pavilion at 10:00. A private burial at the Holloway Family Plot at New Live Oak Cemetery, Selma, AL will take place at a later date. Dale had a deep passion for helping others.
