Neil R Jordan

Neil Robert Jordan, 74, born in Montclair, New Jersey, January 25, 1951. The beloved husband of Susan Holman Jordan for 42 years passed away peacefully at his home on October 30, 2025, with his wife and daughter by his side. Neil was preceded in death by his mother and Father, Margaret and Robert (Bob) Jordan, his daughter Jessica Anne Jordan, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Magdalene (Fair) and Clinton Curtis Holman Sr., his three sisters Karen, Linda, and Lori., his brother in laws James T. (JT) and Danny Holman, and daughter in law Audreauna Jordan. Neil is survived by his wife of 42 years Susan Holman Jordan, his son Clinton Robert Jordan, his daughter Kristen Alexandra Jordan, son in law Christopher Dutra, sister Donna Seaboalt, sister-in-law Itra Holman, and brother in law Clinton Curtis Holman Jr. He is also survived by his Special Neice and nephew Tina and Mike Sica, and Christine Irving and many other nieces and nephews, and granddaughters, and great grandchildren. Neil was a Radioman in the U.S. Navy, and a retired Communications Technician for the Department of the Navy, and the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Hospital. He retired from the Government with over 34 years of Service; he was lucky enough to retire next to his wife the same day. Neil was an avid surfer and loved the water and his surf boards. He loved to piddle in his garage, talk about surfing and his Navy career. Neil loved his wife Susan for over 42 years; they traveled a great deal with him following her in her Navy and government career. Neil loved is Mother-in-law, Magdalene Fair Holman, she always told him he was her favorite son in law, (he was the only one). He would take her to places anywhere she wanted to go and always kiss her on the cheek when he left. Neil had such a good heart, he loved the kids and especially the dogs in the neighborhood, he would always have a snack for the dogs. He knew the dogs’ names before he knew the neighbors names. Per Neil’s wishes he will be cremated. There will be no formal service at this time. Neil was retired from the U.S. Government, Navy (Active Duty), Navy (Civilian), and Dept of Veteran Affairs with over 34 years of combined federal service. Neil had a degree in Metaphysics. He performed weddings, funerals, etc. Neil went to Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, VA graduating in 1970. Neil then traveled the United States before joining the Navy, Neil loved the Navy, he was stationed in Guam with VQ3, stationed on the USS Ashtabula, he was stationed in Hawaii and his last duty station NTCC North Island, CA where he met his wife Susan and decided to get out of the Navy and follow her around in the Navy. Neil was an avid surfer, surfing since he was a young boy, Neil surfed all over the world and would tell amazing stories about it. Neil was a tinker, he loved to tinker in his garage, restoring old surfboards, even fixing up an old model boat his dad had started, buying musical instruments and having them restored. Neil loved the beach; he would ride his golf cart anywhere he could. He would take his medal detector for finds on the beach. Neil loved the dogs in the neighborhood always having a snack for them when they passed by the house. Most of all he loved his wife of 42 years, retiring together from the same place the Tuscaloosa VAMC, they decided to move to Orange Beach, AL in 2019. They would travel until it got too hard to do so, their last trip was to Key West in May 2025. Neil had many adventures in his life, so many are hard to list. Neil had many special friends, Navy friends, Cox High School friends, new friends from his wife’s high school: Dickie and Dale, and neighbor Friends (Scott, Wayne, and Clayton). Neil had been sick for several years, but this past year has been the toughest.
