Matthew Joseph Miller

Matthew Joseph Miller, age 62, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 2, 1964, Matthew lived a life defined by service, devotion to family, adventure, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. As a graduate of Airborne and Ranger school, Matthew proudly served his country as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. During his military career, he participated in Operation Just Cause in Panama, carrying the courage, discipline, and leadership that would continue to shape his life long after his service ended. Following his time in the Army, Matthew built a successful career in transportation and logistics, where his strong work ethic and ability to lead earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Above all else, Matthew cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Kathleen Miller and a proud father to Matthew Miller Jr. (Amanda), Mitchell Miller (Marissa), Laney Ashworth (Madison), Caitlin Baldwin (Jackson), Kristen Johnson (Harry), and Camille Ford. He was an adoring grandfather to Ozzy, Scarlet, Markie, Marshall, and Julia, and he eagerly awaited the arrival of two more grandchildren, Jack and Magnolia. Matthew is also survived by his brother, Mark Miller (Teri). Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Frank Miller, and his mother, Mary Jane Miller. Matthew found his greatest happiness in the simple moments spent with those he loved most — traveling with his wife, Kathleen, relaxing with family by the pool or the beach, sharing stories, listening to music, and creating memories that will live on for generations. He also had a deep passion for mopar cars and took great pride in collecting World War II memorabilia, interests that reflected both his appreciation for history and his lifelong sense of curiosity. Matthew always lived by the saying, “You have to live hard to be hard,” a reflection of the toughness, resilience, and determination that defined the way he approached life. Yet beneath that strength was a man deeply devoted to his family, generous with his time, and fiercely loyal to the people he loved. Matthew will be remembered for his strength, generosity, humor, and deep love for his family and country. His presence filled every room, and his legacy will continue through the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
