A Legacy of Faith and Family A life devoted to faith, family, and music, Marvin Holtman leaves behind a legacy that will live on through the many generations who were blessed to know and love him. Marvin W. Holtman, Jr., age 95, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Marvin lived a long and meaningful life centered around faith, family, music, and the simple joys that brought people together. A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, he found his greatest happiness in watching his family grow through the generations. His steady presence, gentle wisdom, and unwavering love created a legacy that will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Music was one of Marvin’s greatest passions. He especially loved playing the saxophone, sharing his gift and love of music with family and friends over the years. When not playing music, you could find him on the golf course or reading from his library of books; his favorites being biographies, spiritual books and history. In his later years, he enjoyed working puzzles, and recently discovered a new creative joy in painting. Marvin cherished his winters in Orange Beach, Alabama, where he enjoyed the sunshine, treasured friendships, and special moments spent with his family. Marvin’s greatest legacy is the large and loving family he leaves behind. He is survived by his children: Bill Holtman (Robin) of Eaton, OH Judy Robinson (Don) of Union, KY Terri Frietch (Tom) of Madeira, OH Patty Donovan (Joe) of Brandon, MS Mary Kintz (Bob) of Sugar Grove, IL Chris Holtman (Kerry) of Dry Ridge, KY He also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know him. Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean, his beloved son, John and his five siblings. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his earthly journey has led him home to heaven. The love, faith, and values he shared will continue to live on through the many generations who were blessed to call him Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa.
