Lloyd P Cox

Lloyd Paige Cox, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his home in Foley, Alabama. He was born October 01,1939, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Eloise Holt Cox and John Carl Cox. He is preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his spouse, Thomas (Tom) G. Barber of Foley, AL., his sister, Anne Cox Alonzo of Flat Rock, N.C., nieces Debbie Alonzo Anders, Donna Alonzo Shelton, Darlene Alonzo Murph, DenielAlonzo Roussel and 15 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several beloved cousins on both his mother/s and father's side of his family. Raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Paige graduated from Lee High School and upon graduation enrolled and briefly attended Auburn University. He proudly served in the Army National Guard" Paige worked with his father, Johnny Carl Cox, for the paymaster company. Later he would obtain a real estate license, working for Owen Realty in Montgomery and later for Jewell Campbell and Co. in Baldwin County. Paige and Tom resided together in Montgornery from L975 until 1986 when thelr, along with Paige's mother, Eloise, relocated to Baldwin County where they lived and worked, with an intervening S-year residency in Pensacola, until his passing. Paige was an avid animal lover and accomplished horseman. Horses were his life' When he wasn't enjoying riding and showing his horses, he was enjoying music, dancing and the company of good friends and laughter. He also enjoyed time on his boat on the waterways of the Gulf of Mexico between Pensacola and Orange Beach. He loved people and was always the champion of the "underdog". He was a devoted fan of the Crimson Tide. Paige is greatly missed by so many who knew and loved him. Paige's cremains will be interred alongside his father's and mother's graves in the Montgomery Memorial Cemetery located at 3001 Simmons Drive Montgomery, AL. 36108, on Monday, November 21,2022, at 1:00 P.M. There will be a celebration of his life at the site and burial will follow immediately " in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your local humane society or animal shelter. "
