Obituary for Kenneth Ervin Fritts, Sr Kenneth E. Fritts, Sr, 85, of Bon Secour, Alabama went to his heavenly home on January 2, 2023. He was born September 2, 1937, in Bonny Blue, Virginia, the son of the late Ervin and Maxine Fritts. He married Una Fee on September 19, 1959. Ken proudly and honorably served his country as an Airman Second Class in the Air Force 1954-1958. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Jewel Food Company for 32 years in the Chicago area. He was a man of great faith and was an active member at North Avenue Baptist Church which later became Parkview Baptist Church for 32 years. He learned so much under the leadership of Pastor Fred Moore. He learned and taught sign language to the hearing impaired and signed for them in our Sunday Church Services. He was a deacon in the church for many years, drove the church bus to pick up kids for Sunday School and church. He worked in the Awana Club program for many years. He also taught the Adult Sunday School class and he loved to go Soul Winning. In 1998, Ken and his wife, Una moved to Bon Secour, Alabama to be near their grandchildren and be present in their young lives. He loved his family. He and his wife joined Fishermen Baptist Church in Bon Secour, Alabama where he continued his service for God. He taught the Adult Sunday School class and was involved in other ministries. He learned how to print in the church print shop and printed tracts and instructional booklets that have been used around the world. He wrote and printed a gospel tract called “Are You on the Right Road?” That tract is still being used at the Port of Mobile and is shared with seaman from all over the world. He enjoyed working in the print shop so much. Now he is reaping his rewards in the splendor of his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was so loved and he will be missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Una Fritts; four children, Kenneth (Beth) Fritts, Jr, Debbie (David) Tindal, Karen (Scott) Weinmann, and Rob Fritts; 6 grandchildren, Bethanie (Dallas) Colby, Chris (Rachel) Tindal, Meghan Ward, Stephen (Treya) Tindal, Shelby Ward, and Tucker Weinmann; and six great grandchildren; Bentley, Coral, Ellie, Levi, Grady, and Gracelyn Rose. Two sisters; Wanda Rhea and Vicky Simmons; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Ervin and Maxine (Haynes) Fritts, sisters; Elizabeth Carter, Sue Belcher; brothers; Alan Fritts, Julian Fritts and John Wayne Fritts.
