John Hillary Jones July 21, 1963 – February 16, 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Hillary Jones, who left this world on February 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 21, 1963, John lived a life full of faith, family, and the simple joys that made his heart happy. John was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Melissa Jones, and a proud father to Wesley Jones, Bridget Jones, Skyler Hutto (Brian), and Hillary Jones. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he was blessed beyond measure with 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom adored their Pawpaw. He was also a cherished uncle to four nieces and two nephews, as well as a great-uncle to three great-nephews and four great-nieces. John was the son of John and Helen Jones, who instilled in him the values of kindness, hard work, and unwavering faith. He was a loving brother to Amy English (Wendall) and Woody Jones (Darla), and he now reunites in heaven with his late sister, Brenda Stewart. A man of deep faith, John was an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church, always ready to share a kind word, a prayer, or a helping hand. He found peace in the quiet moments spent by the water, with a fishing pole in hand and a heart full of gratitude for life’s blessings. Saturdays in the fall were sacred, as he cheered on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, never missing a game and always ready to shout, "Roll Tide!" John also had a well-known sweet tooth, with a special love for banana pudding, which always brought a smile to his face. By his side through it all was his loyal dog, Buster, who was not just a pet, but a true companion and member of the family. John’s presence was a source of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and his laughter was contagious. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and his memory will be carried forward through the countless lives he touched. Though he is no longer by our side, we find comfort in knowing that he is at peace, casting his line into heavenly waters. Rest easy, John. You were deeply loved, and you will be dearly missed.
