Mrs Janet Price

Janet Price, age 77, of Lillian Alabama passed away in June 2016 at her home from peritoneal cancer. Her daughters were by her side and she had the support of her granddaughter and many dear friends and neighbors during her illness. Born and raised in Michigan. Both her parents worked full-time, so she often spent summers in Kansas at relatives farms. She graduated from University of Michigan and went on to get her M.A. in Education, married Harvey Price, moved to Pennsylvania and worked as an American History Teacher for 30 years, before retiring to Alabama. She loved to travel with Harvey and their dogs by motor home seeing all 50 states as well as taking trips abroad. She also enjoyed line dancing, walking, knitting, crafting, water aerobics, watching football, spending time with friends, family and laughing. She often helped out on hot air balloon teams, the U.S. Flag Balloon Team and Ham-let, aka When Pigs Fly Team at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. She loved animals, especially her little adopted dog, SuzyQ, who she treated like a queen. She worked hard, exercised daily and always had projects. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Terri, Tonnie, plus, Kevin, grandchildren, Sharon, Justin and Auston and her many friends and relatives. When first diagnosed she immediately thought of her friends and composed this letter: Dear Friends, I was just diagnosed with a whole body full of cancer, right now brain intact. I want to say good bye to all of my friends that have shared their life with me over the years and thank them for what they have contributed to me, making me a much better person. Please don’t be sad, I’ve lived a charmed easy life full of much happiness and success. Please celebrate my life with memories of the good times we’ve shared together and the great bonds of friendship we have developed.
