Janet Carver

Janet Stocke Carver went to meet her Lord peacefully on November 19, 2022 with her husband, Arthur, her children, Dwayne, Jacqueline, Julia and granddaughter, Abbie at her bedside at South Baldwin Medical Center. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Abbie, Jordon, Tanner and Alyson and two great grandchildren, Rodney and River. Her siblings, Barbara (Bill) Boone, Martha Young, and brother, William (Terry) Stocke, nieces; Kim Young, Lea (Chris) Guffey, and nephew Chad Boone. From her first husband, Ronald West (deceased), brothers-in-law, Mark, Mike, Jeff, and Steve West with nieces, Amanda, Jessica, and nephew Logan West. Janet’s parents, William and Jacqueline Stocke, both deceased lived in Elberta and Foley. Janet graduated from Foley High School and the University of Alabama with honors earning a BA degree in Criminal Justice. Even though she spent most of her life working in the Hospitality business, she retired after 9 years from Allied Waste Services in December 2012. She was an avid Cruiser mostly with Royal Caribbean, Diamond status and 40 total cruises, the last 12 with husband, Arthur. Janet, a 19 year member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 99 in Foley, held many offices including Past President, District 33 President and Past Department Historian. Her efforts in her desire to support Children and Youth included Oratorical Contests, Girl’s State, Department Leadership Camp and children of Veterans within the Community and the American Legion. She married Arthur in July 2008, who is still active in American Legion Post 99. She and Arthur are members of Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Foley where Janet’s efforts in supporting the churches weekly foodbank resulted in a partnership with Auxiliary unit 99. Janet’s family has requested that instead of flowers, that a donation be made in her Memory to Auxiliary Unit 99, P. O. Box 744, Foley, Al 36536 or directly to Unit 99 President at Post 99 to their VA & R youth program. Final arrangements are pending to conduct a Memorial service at the Alabama State Veteran’s Cemetery in Spanish Fort where her ashes will be scattered in the Memorial Garden. A Celebration of Life will be held at American Legion Post 99 after the New Year at a date TBA. Arrangements by Cason Funeral Services in Foley.
