James Dennis Crumpton

James Dennis Crumpton was born in Japan on July 14, 1952 to Oscar and Yuki Crumpton. A few years and siblings later they relocated to Leeds, Alabama and then on to Birmingham, Alabama until 1997 when Dennis reacted his family to Fairhope, Alabama. Dennis was an intelligent, kind hearted, and deeply thoughtful person looked up to by his siblings and friends. His best friends throughout his life that we referred to as the “core 4” when they were all together were Mike Taylor, Gerald Miranda, and Wayne Carr.Dennis had many friends and was a very entertaining story teller which usually were grand adventure that he had with his friends over the years that he cherished. Dennis’s brothers and sisters Stanley Crumpton, Cindy Crumpton, Robert Crumpton, David Crumpton, and Lisa Crumpton were also a huge part of what made him who he was. He was the penultimate big brother that would be there if they called no matter how far away he was. He treasured his family and only wanted the best for everyone. He was also quite fond of his extended family and in-laws Randy Jones, Sandy Crumpton, Eleanor Crumpton,and Bill Robertson that he viewed as just as close as blood relatives. Dennis was prominent in the valve industry which he worked for over 20 years with automation and process controls being his main field of focus. He was the head of Sunbelt Supply’s automation department in the southeast at Mobile,Alabama. Dennis was a loving father and husband to Joyce Crumpton and Chris Crumpton which his absence will always be felt.Dennis and Joyce were married for 40 years. He was most well known as being “THE Grandad” which was a title he cherished with all of his heart. His grandchildren Aaron Roberts, Ava Glatli, Chase Covert, and Gabriel Crumpton were his greatest joy in his later years. He treasured his grandchildren and they were what he continued work so hard and fighting for. Dennis was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer in February. His funeral services will be held in Daphne, Alabama at The Father’s House 28860 N.
