Harry Joe Gebhart

Harry Joe Gebhart, 70, of Foley, Alabama, passed away on January 17th, 2023 with his wife and son by his side. Harry was born on February 4, 1952 to Omer and Louise Gebhart in Fairhope, Alabama. After graduating from Foley High School in 1970, he went on to electronics school in Atlanta, GA. Soon after leaving Atlanta, he joined the Air Force Reserve. Once he returned from basic training in Texas, he resumed studies at Faulkner State. After graduating with an associate degree in computer science, he transitioned into a working career with Exxon Mobile for the next thirty years, and retired as a senior operator with them. In 1974, Harry married the love of his life Miriam, at the Magnolia Springs Wesleyan Church surrounded by family and friends. Seven years later in 1981, Harry and Miriam welcomed their one and only child, Andrew into the world. Harry always worked hard to make sure that his family was taken care of and felt loved every day. He enjoyed working on various things, spending his time helping others, which included helping build three different churches. He was always tinkering, problem solving, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Harry was a terrific husband, father, and Pop-Pop, possessing a genuine interest in folks and was a great friend to many. He led a life filled with love, faith in God, and compassion for others. Harry was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Harold Gebhart. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, his son Andrew, daughter-in-law Shanna, granddaughter Ava, his brothers Franklin and David, one nephew, three nieces, and several cousins. Services will be held at Magnolia Springs Wesleyan Church on February 4th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christians United Ministries, a christian ministry he felt strongly about and was a board member of.
