Billy Bonner

Billy Bonner, a beloved native of Eva, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2024. He was born on October 21, 1940 and attended Eva High School. After graduating, Billy joined the Air Force, where he served honorably for four years. In 1966, he completed his service and began a new chapter in his life. Billy was employed by 3M for 12 years and 25 years with GM/Delphi. Billy’s retirement from Delphi in 2002 allowed him, in 2010, to pursue his passions, along with his wife, Patsy. He settled in Lillian, Alabama where he enjoyed long walks on the beach, collecting seashells, and exploring the coastline with his wife. Billy loved to travel and this love led him through 49 of our 50 states. His love for adventure extended to building his first motorcycle, a project that brought him immense joy. An avid mechanic, Billy found solace in rebuilding motors. Whether it was a vintage car engine or a small lawnmower, he relished the challenge. His culinary skills were equally impressive, with his specialty being egg and grilled cheese sandwiches - simple, yet satisfying. Golf was another of Billy’s favorite pastimes. He spent countless hours on the greens, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golfers and friends. His dedication to the sport was unwavering. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Pearl Bonner, as well as his siblings: Roy, Earthal, Winford, Naomi Bentley, Vernel Givens and sons: John Moore and Robert Moore. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Billy is survived by his wife, Patsy and his children; Kevin, Shane, Kristy Green (John), April Langham (Brian), and Daughter-in-law Caroline Moore. His sister June White (Ray) and brother Jimmy (Frances). His grandchildren Jonathan Moore, Courtney Vinzant (Teddy Herchenhan), Heather Saint (Tyler), Anna Glover (Kris), Abbey Vinzant (Zac Morgan), Josh Langham, Kayden, Kori, and Kameryn Green, along with his great grandchildren; Colter Moore, Elijah and Evan Glover, Blakely and Maggie Saint - will forever hold him in their hearts. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Lillian Methodist Church on May 18, 2024 at 1:00pm, with Pastor Dan Randall officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in Billy’s memory. Rest in peace, Billy Bonner. Your spirit lives on in the sunsets, the open road, and the laughter shared with your loved ones. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Pastor Dan and Tay and church family, Sacred Heart doctors and staff, Community hospice of Foley, along with friends and neighbors.
