In Loving Memory of Beverly Ann Petrel September 17, 1948 – June 29, 2026 Beverly Ann Petrell, a vibrant, artistic, and deeply independent soul, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Baldwin County, Alabama. Born in Jefferson County, Beverly’s journey took her from the neighborhoods of Birmingham—where she was a celebrated, award-winning real estate agent—to the beautiful shores of South Alabama, where she truly found her peace. When life called for a fresh start, Beverly moved with her family to Gulf Shores. It was here, among the coastal breezes, that she spent her remaining professional years becoming the beloved face of local condo and rental management. Known for her natural gift for problem-solving, her comical personality, and her unmatched warmth, Beverly was recognized both by her employers and in the local newspaper for delivering the kind of genuine, friendly customer service that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. But beyond her work, Beverly was a woman who treasured the simple and beautiful things in life. She was an artist at heart who loved to draw, sketch, and lose herself in arts and crafts, creating jewelry and intricate beadwork. She possessed a deep, lifelong passion for nature and the water, spending many happy years looking out over the peaceful waters of Wolf Bay. More than anything, Beverly loved animals—holding a deep, equal affection for both her cats and her dogs throughout her life. Her final years were uniquely defined by the fierce, unwavering loyalty of her beloved dog, Molly, whom she had shared a bond with for many years. Molly remained faithfully by Beverly’s side through thick and thin. Days after Beverly's passing, 14-year-old Molly peacefully followed her, ensuring that the two lifelong companions wouldn't have to walk their next journey apart. Beverly was a fiercely private person who cherished her family and her deep, lasting connections. She was blessed with treasured lifelong friends—including those who stood by her for over 70 years from her early school days through all of life's many chapters—as well as beloved cousins and close confidants who held a special, private place in her heart. To honor her wishes, there will be no public service. Instead, her family will privately return her to the waters of the Gulf Coast she loved so much, mirroring the beautiful coastal spaces where she and her sister, Linda, shared some of their favorite moments together. She leaves behind her children, Brent and Danielle; her sister, Linda; and her former husband, Joseph. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Petrel.
