Barbara Warren Phillips November 20, 1940 – May 21, 2026 Barbara Warren Phillips, age 85, of Foley, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in Talladega, Alabama, Barbara spent 81 wonderful years there before moving to Foley to enjoy life near the beach she loved. She was a woman known for her warmth, strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. To know Barbara was to know compassion, laughter, and a heart that always put others first. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose love will continue to live on in the lives she touched. Barbara graduated from Talladega High School in 1959. She dedicated many years of service working for Dr. Edward H. Roberts for over two decades and later worked with Elwood Staffing. Alongside her husband, Erskine “Turk” Phillips, she also proudly helped own and operate the Old Mill Restaurant in Waldo, Alabama, where many memories were made with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Warren; her husband, Erskine “Turk” Phillips; her brother, Johnny Warren; her sisters, Patsy Warren Wright and Mary Jane Warren Kiker; and her nephew, Patrick Warren Kiker. Barbara is lovingly survived by her sister, Betty Warren Arnold; her daughter, Christy Phillips Cook; her cherished grandchildren, Emma Moore, Madison Justice, and Karson Palmer; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews including Jeff Arnold, Alan Arnold, Jan Garrett, Hal Warren, and Terri Goodman. She also leaves behind her three adored grandpuppies, who brought her endless joy and companionship. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Barbara’s family will forever hold close the love, wisdom, and gentle spirit she shared so freely. Her memory will remain a blessing and a light in the hearts of all who loved her.
