Thomas G Burkes Jr

Thomas Grady Burkes Jr. age 65 fell asleep in death on May 3rd 2021 at his home in Robertsdale Alabama. Mr. Burkes was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Thomas, His father Thomas Burkes and his granddaughter Kenzleigh Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife Angela Burkes, two daughters Brittany Burkes (Chris Hallman), Jessica Carpenter (Randy Carpenter) and seven grandchildren; Hannah Thomas, Braylend Thomas, Emory Hallman, Ben Hallman, Cameron Hallman, Zak Carpenter, Mason Carpenter and five sisters; Deborah Holland, Bonnie Black (Larry), Brenda Burkes, Tommie-Sue Burkes and Edna Fitler. Thomas, or Grady as he preferred to be addressed, was a master carpenter. He took pride in everything he built and constructed for the past 51 years. He was a hard worker who truly loved what he did, especially providing for his family. Grady Just celebrated a beautiful sobriety anniversary of 25 years. What an amazing, dedicated accomplishment that we were all so very proud of! Grady was a faithful, baptized Jehovah's Witness. He dedicated his life to Jehovah God through water baptism on November 5th 2011. A couple of his favorite scriptures are: Proverbs 27:11 Be wise my son and make my heart rejoice, so that i can make a reply to him who taunts me. Psalms 55:22 Throw your burden on Jehovah and He will sustain you; never will he allow the righteous one to fall. One of the last things Grady said, "I have two rocks, my first rock is Jehovah God, my second is my sweetheart Angie". Grady and Angie have been married for 38 years April 1st. The two of them built a strong foundation of faith, hope and true love. Their relationship stood strong through the tests of time. Grady enjoyed the simple things in life. The kind of things that money just can't buy; He truly loved the beautiful Gulf of Alabama beaches. He said this was his paradise. He enjoyed walking the beaches with his sweetheart hand in hand, feeding the seagulls and when he had the time, fishing. Aside from his beach loving trips he truly loved all of his 7 grandchildren. He was known by them as Pappy. Pappy loved to spoil them babies with weekly gifts of toys, shopping trips, restaurant visits. We know Gradys hope was to be resurrected to a paradise earth where he, nor will any of our deceased loved ones will ever hurt, get sick or fall asleep in death again. We know through the scripture found at Job 14:15 that Jehovah god longs for that day and will call Gradys name. Also, in Acts 24:15 where it says "And I have a hope towards God which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. So, it's not goodbye forever, very soon Jehovah will call Gradys name and he will wake up and answer him and life perfectly and healthy with never having to suffer or endure pain for eternity.
